Hong?!?

We can add another superhero to the list: Helfdan has also donated $1000!

I need to think of some cool way to thank these folks.

A new server, perhaps? :)

In all fairness, and while these people are more than generous in their giving, I think you're running out of room up there. Why not make a table with name = donation amount.

They have exceeded their grounds substantially, but is it not fair to give a nod to the every day people who've donated the other half? :)

Not everyone might want to have his name listed there. I suppose the ones listed now have agreed to do so, but I find it funny that hong didn't post anything here or elsewhere on that topic yet. Maybe he is just so humble? Or is he not allowed to post at the moment, being banned for some past transgression? (Doubt that, but it would be kinda fun ;) )

How would a table with everyone on it take up less space? There's a LOT of smaller donations (many of which are unidentified - most people don't identify themselves).

I agree that EVERY donation, no matter its size, is a wonderful thing. And every person has my heartfelt thanks (and, I'm sure, the thanks of everyone else in the community).

I apologize; I meant a table for the big spenders up there. It's not that it's taking up room, but my OCD in design is getting to me. :)

Maybe our favorite statistician is trying to buy his way back in ;)

Take THAT, Free Rider Problem!

I've been editing too many economics articles lately. Maybe when the new servers come on line, ENworld can distract me.

3-5k basically gets you a average level starter server without software. For the loads this one is forced to deal with my expectation is more in the 8-10k range to get something speedy (That includes free software and volunteer install time).

Eh. A $3-5K server can easily be dual socket/8-core, with terabytes of storage and 8GB+ of RAM. An 'average level' server these days is amazingly powerful (especially when compared to the dual socket/2-core/maybe 1 GB of RAM and 100 GB of storage midrange servers of just five years ago, or even the first-generation dual socket/4-core midrange server ENWorld is currently running on).
