Horizon Walker

D'oh. Haven't looked at it in a while, and thought it was an unnamed bonus a la the ranger's bonus (that one *is* unnamed... right?). Anyway... nevermind. Still, the terrain groups are pretty darn big. And it gives a bonus to hit, which ranger bonuses don't get. Kinda cool.

Thanks, all, for this.

I have had the impression that it is a bit underpowered, but that it also looked quite fun. I read someone's PrC for something, where at upper levels the character gained a swim speed, a climb speed, a burrowing speed, with all that entails., and thought that might be an acceptable improvement.

As for the reading of the Dimension door ability, I am certain that it must be meant to be as Souljourner reads it--usable on any plane. It is the biggest buff of them all.

More thoughts would be appreciated...

Yes, the ranger's Favored Enemy bonuses are unnamed. (I had to check because you had me worried too.)

I don't much like the Horizon Walker because it doesn't really make sense to me. You get all these abilities related to different planes, but you can't actually travel to those planes. How exactly did you become adapted to a weightless environment, for example?

I suppose Plane Shift is a bit much to ask for, but I'd like Horizon Walker a lot better if it had some sort of planar travel ability.

I believe the implication is, or at least should be, that one has traveled to the plain in order to gain the planar mastery. I would also say that the character should have at least BEEN to the terrain tpe before gaining the terrain mastery....

But actually it is an Interesting PrC. At higher levels you can start gaining some nifty abilities limited only by the number of planes...

Well, that would really put a limitation on the character. Unless the DM planned the campaign around this PrC the player would be stuck with not being able to take levels in their chosen class sometimes.
