Hot Stuff Glue?

Has anyone heard of this stuff or know where I can buy it?

I've only bought it once from a local hobby store but they don't have it anymore. It came in an orange plastic tube with a white cap. The glue itself was in a small white eye-drop bottle.

That glue was the best I've ever had for RPG purposes. It would harden within 30 seconds, which was great for minis. It was much stronger than the super glue Warhammer stores sell. Only problem was if you were holding pieces together while the glue hardened, it would sometimes glue your fingers together!

I'd really like to find this stuff before but I don't even know who manufactures it. Unfortunately I threw out the containers.

Like this?

That's about the same as the GW gluey stuff, though (Cyanoacrylate).

Best ones I know are those with a small brush to apply the glue. Works very well.

Go to a hobby store that sells model airplane kits. They should sell it there - there's a few different brands. Hot Stuff is one, ZAP is another (which is what I normally use) ... as long as the bottle is labelled "cyanoacrylate", you're fine.

There's also a couple of variants of the glue. The true "instant" stuff is incredibly runny and wicks everywhere - using it takes some getting used to, as you don't need very much (a drop or so) for most applications. I'd avoid it unless you *want* to constantly glue your fingers together. Try looking for the "slow" stuff - the glue bonds most surfaces together in 10-20 seconds, and it's much easier to work with.

Also - keep some acetone or nail polish remover (same thing) on hand. It acts as a debonder when you glue your fingers together, or when two pieces you didn't want joined suddenly get joined. Washing this stuff off with soap and water doesn't work too well.

Finally - and I can't stress this enough - use it in a well-ventilated area. The "cyano" in "cyanoacrylate" is the same stuff that creates "cyanide" ... breath in enough Hot Stuff fumes and you *will* get sick. I try to limit my exposure to cyanoacrylates as much as possible. Glue 2-3 pieces together, then walk away for a little bit before glueing some more.

Awesome! Thanks for the help guys! It's the Super-T version that I'm interested in and that worked for me in the past (it's the thicker version than the regular thinny version).
