Hours of play from a module?

Speaker in Dreams - about 8 hrs, and I modified it to suite my party they were walking through it.

The Freeport Trilogy - we started the first book and finished it in about 15 hours. (Lots of role playing)

Banewarrens - This was Long and they still havent finished it quite yet(They are at the end), i would say we have been on it for about 50 hrs.

Of Sound Mind took us three sessions, so probably about fifteen to eighteen hours all in all. Maybe slightly less.

We might have done it in two sessions, I think, if we'd all been there for the second game. Missing our best fighter in the most combat-heavy part of the module hurt us a lot

Well, it seems I have a few options...

Work on the general pacing of play (which I certainly will).

Run shorter modules, either homebrew or short/shortened modules.

There is a good chance the pc's are going to Forge of Fury next (one pc is a dwarven smith who'd really like to get a hold of Durgeddins techniques) and depending on their actions in the current (homebrewed) adventure, it might be plausible for them to get free passage through the troglodyte part of Forge, which should shorten it a bit. Besides, I found the troglodyte part to be the least interesting in Forge.

I suppose this can be done with most modules, focusing on the most interesting parts and skipping the less interesting ones, which should make for faster, more intense play.

Yeah Of Sound Mind was about 13 hours. it was a really good module too, if you are at all into psionics (I am). Im slow, it just dawned on me that Piratecat wrote that one. It was a damned fine module, PC.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. :)

We've gotten 72 hours of play so far out of Keep on the Borderlands plus Forge of Fury (with a few homebrewed events in between, trip back to town, & such). We probably have 2-3 sessions (12-18 hours) left in Forge of Fury, too.

Of course, our balance of roleplay may not be the same as others':)

the top layer of the FoF took 2.25 sessions. 6hrs per session. ~13.5 hrs. actually in the dungeon.

but there is alot of other roleplay involved that can be counted towards the whole. gather information. supply. heal. travel. etc...

the story of our adventures and the main character;) can be found in my sig.
