House of M #1

Ah. Makes sense. But the books I'm reading these days include several Ultimate titles, Amazing X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, X-Treme X-Men (working through the trades), and only a couple of DC books. I'm just a lot more familiar with the Marvel characters and I like every part of their stuff I can get my hands on.

I needs me my old-school Avengers, and the Avengers West Coast too. I even liked the post-A:WC book Force Works. This new team doesn't sit well with me at all.

"readers are confused by our books" say the men in charge...so they rather than hire some good writers and artists to fix the pre-existing books. they invented a secondary universe and put the high-profile creators on those books

The Ultimate Universe is the death of the regular Universe. It splits sales. It doesn't help sell other MU books (some people only read ULT titles) , it adds to the confusion and it will only get worse when the titles start to cross over.

Interesting. I have to say that it was the Ultimate titles that got me into Marvel after years of...er... not being into Marvel for the very reasons stated. Now I read Daredevil, a couple of X-men titles, the occasional Spidey, Avengers and anything else that catches my eye. For me, certainly, the Ultimate universe has done exactly what it was intended to do! And for the record, The Ultimates ROCKS!

I've bought House of M, but haven't read it yet. I know it's gonna be a cheap, nasty crossover... but I like cheap and nasty sometimes!

I read, no...I scan the pages of the House of M. Just like any beginning TV show, it has it's hits and misses. I used to collect Marvel in the heyday, before the Ben Reilly clone mess. But I have been always aware of Wanda's past. I am sadden to a high degree, that the path illustrated...has been so eagerly rushed to show her downfall. I do considered all the pre-events with her. That she has suffered so much and enough by human standards, that this...this, should not be happening to her now.

Now...with some disappoint brewing, Marvel...will possibility attempt to rewrite history, with the pan-handled excuse, that it is a hex-reality altering witch's fault. The question remains...how far, and how wide, as it seems to be indicated, that her 'power' has been shaping the MU, for years? Let me guess, from the time of the birth of the 'twins'...well, that is a lot of history to 'clean' up....isn't it?

As for getting it...budget and cost on my wallet, outstrips the interest.
