Pathfinder 1E How about a Pathfinder CRPG?

How would you like a computer RPG for Pathfinder to be made? It could be similar to games like Neverwinter Nights 2. It would use the from the Pathfinder game and would have a very in-depth character creation system. If successful enough, it could have several expansions, as well as adventure packs. Yay or nay?

i know it would be a lot of work, but I would have to see/play before I would pay money for it. Would it be like an MMO or more like a PBP kinda deal

it could be fun, but then again a lot of things that should be turn out not to be

A Pathfinder crpg would be great for the industry, but...

Please, no.

Realistically, given that WotC couldn't get a really good D&D game made, I doubt that Paizo has the connections or resources to do it. But we can hope. At least the company has the taste not to do a bad one.

Paizo is likely as well-connected as they need to be.

As for resources, they would likely license it, so they may not have to use their own resources at all.

The question is more along the lines of "does a software company think there's money to be made off of such a game?". If the answer is "yes", they'll make it. If not, they won't.

The name wouldn't bring in enough money to make it worth licensing the name.

Doesn't this depend on how much the license would cost before a decision could be made as to whether it would be worth it?

There is also the chance that this could be advantageous to Paizo to get the Pathfinder name out to more people that might not already see it - leading them to grant a license at less cost than one might otherwise do.

I'd give it a try.

Now, it's be a real hoot to see Bioware, with it's Dragon Age series, team up with Paizo's Pathfinder to make a game set in Golarion...

Yes, but logically, it has to be a sum of money with multiple zeroes in it, if only to protect the brand and to prevent random jackasses from trading on Paizo's name. If that money -- including the time spent on negotiating the license -- isn't made up in additional sales, it's not worth it.

Honestly, CRPGs do great without licenses. I can't see any company that you'd want a Pathfinder CRPG from being interested in acquiring the license.
