Well, since I have the post to edit, I'll add a few more random thoughts about this...
I was thinking that maybe each publisher that entered their setting coud devise their own six challenges (based on the six ability scores) and make them "setting specific".
Maybe, if they would be inclined, they could place them in advance on their own website as a PDF download so that people could get some idea of how to either tailor their character toward one type of challenge or try and create a character that has some advantages in several types of challenges.
Perhaps the publishers could be responsible for donating prizes either based on their level of involvement (providing prizes for their own champions that advance) or maybe just all publishers throw in equally and prizes be awarded randomly.
All channels should be moderated by publisher employees or their representatives. Only players in that round would be "voiced" in the channel during that round. The publishers might also like to have an extra moderator in their channel to field "private message" questions from non-voiced audience members regarding their setting or the tournament as it progresses.
