How are your 3E Core books holding together?

  • Badly. At least one of them is fit for nothing but kindling at this point. It's all fallen apart!

One of the recent revisionary threads has revealed that some people have had copies of the 3E PHB, DMG or MM that have inferior binding. That is - they're falling apart.

How are your books going? Mine are going strong, over two years after I first bought them.

Cheers!

My current books are okay however my first MM fell apart in three months though WotC did replace it for free and include a book with the replacement also free of charge. Though I had to pay shipping to send my bad MM to them.

On of my player's PHBs is coming apart at the binding.

The problem stems from imporperly glued bindings. My brother, who is a publisher, said that they didn't use enough glue on the bindings and that some of the glue they did use is on the covers and not the binding itself.

Mine are doing okay. Starting to come a little unglued, but it's Brisbane and these things happen in the heat from time to time..

Given the way I treat gamebooks, they should be considered to be doing really well. Much better than anything else I own, and they've seen more use.

Never had a problem with any WotC produced 3e hardback. Two other large d20 system companies have sold me harbacks, however, that showed immediate signs of falling apart. (I guess that's the disadvantage of ordering online -- can't inspect your book beforehand.)

My original 3E PHB (first printing, bought the day the game came out) had its spine fall apart within a month. The DMG is looking decidedly tatty, but is still relatively intact. The MM is holding up well.

My DMG and MM are holding up fine, but my PHBs are worrying me. Their pages are seperating from the spine and Im to afraid to open them. In fact that is why I bought two of 'em.

Yeah, that's my excuse too.

The PHB I bought the day that 3e was released is nearly falling apart from the bindings. My DMG and MM are just fine.

Never had a problem with any WOTC publication I've bought. Still regret removing the map book from RttToEE, but that's not their fault. The only game book I've ever really had go bad on me was my softbound GURPS 3rd edition book, and after 10 plus years of weekly use, that was no big suprise. :)
