How best to clean Plastic pre-painted Minis?

I haven't had to clean any of my DDM's as yet (non-smoker and store them in zip-lock bags) but if I did I would be going down the warm soapy water (or water and dishwashing liquid) and toothbrush path. Unless they are really dirty, or the cigarette smoke as done something funky to them, that should be all they need.

After Battle Report.

Given the large number of minis to clean, I opted for the low tech solution of liquid hand soap diluted in a sink full of hot water.

I vigorously swished em around with my hands for a few minutes. Gee. That was hard.

A rinse of each mini under running cold water to remove any visible soap reside. Gave each a shake after the rinse and plopped em out on a towel to dry.

Results: pretty much A-1. Two complete sets of Star Wars minis (Rebel Storm and Clone Stike) cleaned and dried in under 10 mins.

All dust and other clingy grunge removed. The minis look great and appear as brand new. Maybe even better than brand new (out of the plastic bag), to be honest.

Sometimes, low tech really is the best solution.

Glad you got them clean.

Personally I once considered the dishwasher idea, but I was too chicken. So I ran a sink of (very slightly) soapy warm water and dipped the minis in using a large pasta strainer. Swished them around a few times, rinsed well with the sink sprayer, and spread them out (protected from the cats) to dry for a couple of days. It worked very well for about 200 minis.

One of these days I need to get around to cleaning my whole collection. I keep all but the Huges in boxes and bins, but (as someone mentioned) about 75 percent of the Unhallowed set exudes greasy dust.
