How "buff" can you get?

Remember that Mantle are almost all enhancement/resistance bonusses and so they don't stack with the Items you 100% certainly got anyway..
Completely Wrong.

Mantle is +4 luck bonus to ALL stats, all attack rolls, saves, and AC.

Primal Release is also a 8th level spell form BoeM and it gives +10 inherent bonus to STR and CON, +2 to DEX, -2 to WIS, and -6 to INT and CHA. Also Power Attack, CLeave, Great CLeave, Sunder, BAB becomes 1 per HD, and they can't cast spells.

You can't have Spell Immunity to Dispel Magic, Greater Dispelling, or Mordenkainen's Disjunction. Spell Immunity grants unbeatable SR, and those spells do not allow SR.

A few rings of counterspell (greater dispelling) would be useful. Of course, there's still the Disjunction factor, but having a Dispel Magic target your epic level spells just means that they can't possibly be dispelled unless you're using the open-ended optionl rules.

Stoneskin, Bull's Strength, Cat's Grace, Endurance, Owl's Wisdom, Protection from Elements (one of each type, 2 on fire, lightening, and cold), Protection/Magic Circle Against/Auro of Alignment, True Seeing, Tenser's Transformations and Righteous Mights on fighters, Divine Power, Greater magic Weapon, Magic Vestaments, Barkskin, Deathward, Negative Energy Protection, Fireshield, Contingency, Chain Contingency, Delayed Heal, Haste, Mass Haste, Expeditious Retreat, Fly, Displacement, Blink, Booches of Shielding, Freedom of Movement, Spell Turning, Spell Resistance, and of course...

Spell Immunity: Dispel Magic, Greater Dispelling, Mordenkainen's Disjunction, and Harm.

(Note: Passing around a Ring of Spellstoring allows everybody to get those lovely Personal range such as Tenser's and Divine Power.)

That's around 30 spells per PC. What if we restrict you to say, 5 PCs, one wizard and one cleric, all at 17th level. How many spells can you actually cast?

Not a jab, but you just listed almost every buff spell in the books, and applied them to every PC. How's it look with a "real" party?

Such things are the reasons scrolls, potions, and wands were invented.

Granted. But make up a list within the wealth guidelines, and spell slots for a party, and see where you get.

Unless, of course, we're assuming we can pour the resources of a kingdom into one battle... :D

Right, and in addition the chosen spells must be level 4 or lower. Happy hunting! ;)

The Cleric in my group usually has:

5 x Protection from elements (all elements)
Magic Vestment
Greater Magic Weapon
Death Ward
Freedom of Movement
Spell Immunity
Spell Resistance
Delay Poison
Spell Turning (Luck domain)
Triple Empowered Bull's Strength
Triple Empowered Endurance
Polymorph Self (From Miracle ;))

Those are the long-term spells that last minimum of 190 minutes. 16 spells.

Then of course would become Divine Favors and other short-term buffs. (Haste (from boots), Righteous Might, Divine Power, some quickened)

Well, mmadsen did say they were going to assault "The Dark Lord's Mountain Citadel". That sounds to me like it's going to be a major, climactic encounter worthy of using huge amounts of expendable magic items on. If you're fighting for the fate of the world...it's only money, where are you going to spend it if the good guys lose?

Remember that at those levels you can get most of them for half cost by making them yourself (if you have time to prepare). And you can easily have some cohorts to help out in the item making and spellcasting.

Yes, but I also said, "Just how 'buff' can you get (via 'buffing' spells) before you blitz in, attack, and pop back out?" I wasn't clear, but I guess there are two goals here: (1) to see how buff you can get on a daily basis for hit-and-run attacks, and (2) to see how buff you can get before The Big Battle.
