I am unforantly at work atm so i can't look up the boots that double run/walk speed, but there is a pair of boots that does increase speed incriments by double their previous interval as well as allowing for superior jumping skill.....So can the spell Expedious Retreat stack with these boots....

Well... technically, the boots give a +10 speed enchancement and a +5 competence bonus to jump. The speed would not stack, but the competence bonus is not duplicated by expeditious retreat and therefore there would be a benefit to having both.

That's in 3.5 obviously.

We're using 3.0 rules actually, so curious where is the rule denying it. I saw it neither in the spell description or the item description. Not denying it, i just like a statement clearing it up.

Some will point to the fact that Boots of Striding and Springing are made by using the spell Expeditious Retreat, and therefore it'd be the same as casting the spell on yourself twice...ie they wouldn't stack.

Others will point out that the spells used to create an item don't always dictate the effects of the item itself.

Myself, I'd say talk to your DM. Myself, I wouldn't allow them to stack (and I'm DMing a 3.0 game,) but your DM may feel otherwise.
