At the time the "D&D is satanic" slander was still active, so my first actual rpg was D6 Star Wars from WEG.

Fixed your typo :)

Now a days, I refer to that period in the 80s as the "Second Red Scare" instead of hunting commies it seemed that everyone was looking for a satanist under the rug, or more specificly Rock n' Roll (poor guy, everyone picks on Rock n' Roll), TV and D&D.

I started with Dragon Warriors (published in the UK in books around the size of a novel), then onto Cthulu, WFRP, MERP, Cyberpunk, Vampire etc., didn't go much on D&D till 3rd ed. came out and it sort of resembled the game our main GM had tweaked Dragon Warriors into (but with better balance).

I started with D&D with the dragon on the cover. The boxed set wasn't red or blue. I forget the exact TSR # or printing. It was around 1979. I got a lot of the old 1st edition mods to.

Then I moved onto Traveller via the hardback Traveller book which I got around 1981.
