Well, I'm being trained for iimmediate work teaching freshman composition and I already do and have done lots of work in writing labs and as tutor/editor.
This semester I'll be doing writing lab work and lots of 'document instruction' which is really just very involved grading. I will probably sub in and proctor for a few profs.
My field is composition and rhetoric so its not like I'm not planning on running programs like this for the rest of my life. Though I have thought about switching out to Technical Communication and Rhetoric.
The rhetoric is really my thing, the other half of the degree is mostly about employment placement and job satisfaction.
Though I also like early modern literature, post-colonial literature, literary criticism, medieval history, political philosophy (classical and technology theory), and pop/pulp literature (which I say mostly to justify talking about comic books in class).
Sorry if this is more than you asked for, but I've had to give out this information around eight times in the past week. There's a conference coming up and classes are starting.
