How do you deal with "gamer humor?"

If it's that bad? I, uh... I don't invite them to game with us. My wife would murder someone. There are perfectly good friends at the office I haven't invited and won't invite to a game, nothing personal. Gaming chemistry is paramount.

Assuming we're talking about friends or relatives that I can't get out of gaming with from time to time, though, at some point I'd start giving them hell about it. They're big guys, they can handle being mocked for having terrible taste in television, or not coming up with their own jokes.

I once had to curb some Monty Python. I was a primary instigator but even I got sick of it eventually. So to stop it, when a joke started, I would pick up the stream of dialog before anyone else did. But I would do it really fast and as listlessly as possible (and no cheesy British accent). "yeah, yeah, no one expects the spammish inquisition our chief weapon is surprise surprise and fear our two main weapons are surprise fear and ruthless devotion to the pope amongst our main weaponry are surprise fear ruthless devotion and we get to wear these red robes I'll come in again." You get the most incredulous stares at that point at which point (as DM) you just continue the interrupted scene. Really bad delivery ruins any joke, even jokes that are always funny. Just don't throw a Yada Yada Yada on the end or Seinfeld quotes may follow.
