How do you errata your hard copies?

How do you deal with errata pages?

I find that most of the stuff in the errata is mainly rpinting errors (wrong keywords) and alot of it is just stuff that makes sense and we pretty did that way before the errata even came out.

The stuff that has a significant impact on gameplay I just memorise

Yep, I too take a pencil to my books. The margins are usually big enough, its super easy to see, and if they errata the errata, you can erase.

At first, I was loathe to write in the books, but then I decided, what the heck, I bought them so they're mine. I was much better off for it, since it was fairly easy to keep up with the errata when you're just pencilling it in.

In 3.5 I used to print out and paste the errata directly into my books. It works very well indeed. I just wonder if 4th Ed books would take kindly to the same technique. I haven't tried printing out the errata and matching it up in the books yet. It seems the tables are meant to be used that way, not sure about the actual print.

I write the changes in pencil in the books as well. I haven't kept up with all errata mind you. Things that are less relevant I remain unchanged. For example I know that skill challenges are now 3 failures static. So I don't go changing all the examples.

In the case of something like stealth or double weapons where major changes take place, I print and replace because writing is simply not feasible. This takes a lot more time though and so I avoid it when possible. I write on the stealth rules page "Refer to inside cover" and take the print out on said cover. I also did this with someone's (don't remember who unfortunately) detailed Line of Sight/Line of Effect/Cover diagram. Which has saved a lot of time when those inevitable questions arise in game.

Today is probably a good day to update errata though *sigh*, haven't done it since the big November update.

If there were a service that mailed you perfectly shaped post-it note type errata for all WOTC 4e books, every time errata was published, I would pay and subscribe to it.

lol, I had a vision of said service issuing errata for their misprints, and yet another company mailing errata for the errata, ad infinitum. . .
