How do you make up Fantasy names?

FWIW, while my people have been quite inventive in making up new names over the past few decades- something that vexes my Mother (who has an obscure French name) to no end, it would seem that "Reesha" may be a name of Australian origins.

'Feather', eh? That's pretty cool. :) However in my case I definitely did just make it up from random syllables. If there was any outside influence I suspect it was She-ra (Princess of Power!), which fits the NPC - she was an heroic world-saviour type, one of three heroes who summoned the god Thrin (PC), the 'Star Warrior', through the 'Stargate' (well pre-movie/tv show) to her world Werskara to save it from the Wolfen.

Usually real world derivatives. For example, in the Mystara game I play in my PC was Thyatian-Traladaran mix (think Roman-East European), so I combined two cultural names: Valens and Mihkail to get "Valenhail".

I was going to try to get the other players to pick names sounding like Sammy Hager, David Lee Roth, and other past or present band members. But I figured that would be a little much. Actually it wasn't until the third session that one of the players picked up on the anagram. :)
