D&D General How do you pronounce Seldarine?

Prakriti

Hi, I'm a Mindflayer, but don't let that worry you
I can't find it in any pronunciation guide, so maybe there's no official pronunciation.

For what it's worth, the Seldarine is the name of the Elven pantheon in Forgotten Realms.

According to Demihuman Deities, Sehanine is pronounced "SEH-ha-neen," so I guess Seldarine would be "SEL-da-reen."

English tends towards more open syllables and emphasizing the first syllable: SEL-dar-ine (or SEL-dar-rine, if your instinct is to reduplicate the 'r'). This is probably more consistent with the pronunciation you found for Sehanine.

But I would probably go for something more like sel-DA-rîn or sel-Də-rîn (with the middle vocalization shortening to a schwa sound).

If you change the emphasis of a word from how your native language would, it can go a long way to making it sound like another language system.
