Did D&D Worlds & Realms spoil the new magic coming in the Forgotten Realms Players Guide?
In the book it's revealed that a thief stole a magic Gem from Thay that uses a new kind of Magic, with Mordy suggesting it feels powerful, raw, and Chaotic, like demonic magic but contained.
And that adventurers would be needed to investigate this new magic.
It really seems to be like this is the new kind of magic promised in the Forgotten Realms Players Guide, but demonic magic really isn't new, there are already different ways to experience it, I clouding just summoning demons themselves, so there most be more to this magic then just that, that makes it different.
My guess is it's a way of directly tapping into Outer Planes magic without Divine Casters, I mean if this is abysmal magical energy that means it's pure magic from the Outer Planes itself. Maybe the demonic/abysmal isn't the only form it can come in, like maybe with this new magic you can use the energies of any Outer Plane? I mean they are all very powerful, the sources of Divine magic apparently.
