Anyone else hope they add some FR races to the setting like Saurials, Wemics, Shades, etc...?
Well, they specifically did not say there would be any new Species options in the Player's Guide, and they were pretty quick to say what is included.

However, I have a suspicion about how we might see new species options from the Monster Manual onwards, based on the lack of the NPC Race template table in the new DMG and hoe Species works bow as a choice, but we will see.

They didn't mention species, but they didn't say it wouldn't have them either. But your probably right.

Thing is, of they have a big Bestiary in the FRAG...that could include Species templates for applying toNPC stat blocs, such as Wemic, which I suspect will be in the MM for a bunch of options, as thst table was in the 2014 DMG and missing this time around.

I would rather have player races in a book for players rather than the monster manuals. I didn't like how they did that with the last batch of books(that and the fact they just redid their last books. I don't need a third version of those monsters. I plan on getting the new book but I'm kinda thinking they didn't really make enough changes to monsters to remake the multiversity book. But I think they will throw up another version of that book.

There are not really books "for players", all the books ate for DMs since there is a strong correlation between DMs and book buyers.

I don't expect they will redo MotM, but I do suspect they will want it to be easy fir people to play, say, a Goblin without reprinting the Goblin Species stats in 6 books again. Easy if the mechanics are just in the Core 3, and easy for DMs to customize what options exist in world, and make NPCs of different Species.

But we will see what they do...

Not sure if this was posted already, but the artist who made the (to my eyes, wonderful) 2024 City of Greyhawk map (Francesca Baerald) posted this Forgotten Realms map she completed “for 50 years of D&D”. I wonder if it’ll appear in the Player Guide? It makes this part of the world seem a lot more open and mysterious, which is a good thing in my eyes.

Could be part of the Forgotten Realms music album that is dropping on vinyl soon...this is smaller than what I would expect in the new books, but who knows? Beautiful execution.

Looks lovely. Too bad she misspelled Silverymoon. Blando’s and Schley’s recent Sword Coast maps both had errors as well, so I guess it’s just continuing the trend. 😜
