How do you recruit new players?

I started a campaign in February. I posted on message boards including this one. I had turn people away I had so many reply. I need some new players now and the well has dried up.

How do you find new players?

I make friends with gamers I meet. I am friend with about 2 dozen gamers in my area and when I want a knew game I figure out who can make it, who will be best for the game, and I start planning it out.

Same as Crothian, except that I also have the habit of making gamers of friends I meet, which is a very useful skill to have. When I'm starting a new campaign, I fire off e-mails to five or six likeliest players and then proceed through the player pool until I've got my group. New players I've met at school, through EN World (hi, psychognome!), over IRC and at gaming conventions.

Sometimes you have to move the game to a time people can play.

Then climb the gamers ladder. I'll bet one of these people may know other gamers who may be interested.

My sister meet a gamer kinda that way. The girl was rolling a d20 and when my sister asked what she was doing she said "I'm making intellegence chacks for all of you and your failing.". My sister had no idea what she meant but she gave the girl my name and number. I tried to bring her into the game I was running at the time but it never happened.

How do you find new players?

I post 'players wanted' notices here, at WotC, RPG Registry, Access Denied, and on the forums for two local hobby shops in The Springs. Also, I stick up at least one or two 3x5 index card ads on the actual bulletin board located in the back of another local hobby shop. Failing that, I join an existing group as a player and put my dreams of GMing again on hold
