How do you say "Genasi"?

I have to interject, unfortunately. The origin of the word "drow" was the Scottish folklore equivalent of the norse "svartalfar" or "dokkalfar". It is pronounced as rhyming with "throw" and "row". Drow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

EDIT: Even knowing this, I still pronounce it like "cow"

What he said. I was origninally taught it was pronounced as rhyming with cow as well, until I started reading up on Celtic mythology. It was there that I learned differently. Also, banshee is actually pronounced as BANE-she not BAN-she

There was just a thread on this a few weeks ago, actually. :)

Monte Cook (who created them) confirmed that it's a soft G, as in "genie" (which is where the name came from), and that the last syllable rhymes with "free."

jeh-NAH-see.

I've been saying it wrong for a while - I've been pronouncing it with a hard G gen-AH - sigh.

But my first name starts with a hard C, so I tend to assume a C or G at the start of a name is hard. Just biased. :)

I've always read it gensai, i always call it gen-(as in GENeration)-sigh,kind of like bonsai.

Since its 100% made up as far as i can tell, i feel no obligation to use the spelling WoTC does, i think gensai sounds good, its pretty straight forward how to say it, and looks good. What more could a half-elemental want.
