How Do You Transport Your Books?

I supply all the kit for 2 games in 2 different locations. Just spent quite a lot of money on a new bag. Big enough for all my minis, floor tiles, essential books (about 4), 3 sets of dice, pens, tokens... My god it's heavy.

The bag has a handle, shoulder strap, wheels and then opens up to become a backpack. It's in 2 stages so the bottom opens out like a suitcase and the top opens like a sports bag.

Apart from the weight, it does everything I want it to.

Buy 10 reams of paper, box included. Those boxes are durable enough to transport books, and fit nicely into the trunk of a car.

I have my highschool backpack that I use, but our DM has Comic book boxes, you know the long white ones, sized for magazines. Back in 3.5 he had 1 longbox and a short box every game. But several players now use there laptops, I however do not have DDI so it isn’t as cool.

Any links to the bag? :)

When I only need a few books, I have a nice little backpack.

When I need to bring more stuff, I use a rolling suitcase as well.

If I'm not hosting, but I need to bring a big pile of stuff? I use the suitcase and press my serious HIKING backpack with aluminum frame into service...and possibly plastic crates as well.

Anything more than that, I'm either hosting or pressing buddies into service.

I game at my house now so transport isn't an option. In a previous campaign we played at one of the players' house. I used to drive there so I would pack everything I needed into a plastic storage container (with lid).

This is similar to what I used.

I could have taken a lot less stuff and just used a backpack or two. However, because I was taking my car it was probably easier just taking everything in one big plastic tub. Most of the stuff just stayed packed in the tub between sessions so I wasn't constantly packing and unpacking everything. It also saved a lot of wear and tear on my backpack. If you're using public transport it would have been a horrible option though.

I'm definitely glad I now game at home and have everything one room away at worst. :)
