How do you use Prestidigitation ?

A thread I was just reading about 0 level spells made me wonder... how do you use Prestidigitation in your game? I have had it as a spell for some time and have only ever used it maybe twice, to do "magic tricks" to entertain people for some extra coin.

In this thread, several people mentioned that they really liked this spell and so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for creative uses of it? I want to try and actually use this one a bit more.

I used it in a 2nd edition game when I was a 1st level character to convince a REALLY stupid kobold that I was a god. I told him that I was the god of truth and that, if he lied to me, I'd know it. So, when he answered my question, I made little harmless sparklees appear around the kobold's head.

Fortunately for my character, he *was* lying and got so spooked that he started telling me the truth. Good thing, too, 'cause that was my one spell for the day.

We use it as a washing machine, perfume canister, Brushing, pest killer....

Washing machine : Have your cloth clean before meeting the king.
Perfume canister : as above
Brushing : as above again
all this with Eagle Spendor can turn a fatigued Hero into Playboy ! (or girl )

Pest Killer : very useful when you MUST sleep in a infested place (almost every inn)


and also the Tricks you perform for kid
and also Cheating when playing cards (close-up)
....

My group has used it to add spices to a meal, heat up drinks, clean up dishes, and polish armor, amoung other things.

In a low level adventure our group wanted to get into a group of cultists, who all put on yellow robes for their gatherings. We had two white robes and just 10 minutes time. So having Presitidigitation for coloring the robes was very useful.

My bard uses it as a light show for his performances. He had it permanently enchanted in a glockenspeil for the occasional accompaniment/light show.

 

[Hand of Evil]

Best use one of my players did was adjusting his scent so a few orcs would not track him, this is much like the perfume above.

Mostly it is the little things to distract people, a flash of gold in the hand, dropped to the dirt of the road, urchins diving for something not even there, people turn to look, the PC sides into the ally unseen, his hair turning black.

It can be used to change the flavor of anything to anything you want, which makes myrlunds spoon to a very good item anyway
Not to mention eating at disgusting taverns and such.
