How do you use the Leadership feat?

Do you allow taking the Leadership feat more than once, to gain more than one cohort?

Never happened, but if it does I would allow it.

Yes, you can take Leadership multiple times, although this is an individuals DMs decision. I would only do it with experienced players and a small party.

Furthermore, the only ones who have the feats to spare to do this are fighters, and fighters SHOULD be raising their own private armies (archetypically). All the way back in 1E, they got the best fighters and the most disposable income at all levels (presumably to spend on mercenary troops among other things) so that makes sense to me and seems in keeping with the traditions of the genre. It also buffs up fighters a bit relative to other, more potent character classes (clerics and druids, who are too feat starved to really take leadership).
