Well, if he could cast WISH that would enable him to cast any 6th level cleric spell or lower. At which point he could use Cause Light Wounds on himself or something to heal himself, because I believe those spells heal undead, just as cure spells harm them.

Inflict *foo* Wounds potions for combat/emergencies.

Wand of Inflict *foo* + UMD (Liches generally have a decent CHA) for general healage.

Or wait for unnature to do it's thing.

I would probably only allow negative energy effects that specifically say they heal the undead to heal the undead; after all, not all positive energy effects heal the living.

That said, negative energy burst and negative energy ray, both from Tome & Blood, are Sor/Wiz spells that specifically heal the undead. Negative energy ray, a 1st level spell, will heal Mr. Lich of 5d6 damage per casting (given a lich's minimum spellcaster level). Not too shabby; pick up a wand (caster level 9) for emergencies.

Edit: to answer Psion -- I just checked CA & LM and couldn't find either spell in either book.

Here goes!
Lichs are immune to Polymorph! From other casters! not themselves. This means the Lich can polymorph itself if so needed.
The Neg Energy touch attack they have cannot touch them! (I played a Good Lich in a campaign) so no healing that way. it only affects LIVING creatures
Cold Fire (Monsters of Faerun), special ability was fun, you healed 3d10 I think by juggling the balls into yourself as the target. This meant up to 6d10 a round healing
You can be a cleric or bard Lich. Many Lichs have followers, even a cleric with inflict.

The most important key to healing as a Lich is being a Mystic Theurge first :P
