D&D General How does spell banished work

Can’t fit in title but what happens to a creature banished to another plane and what happens to a creature that’s native to that plane

Can a say a 20th level wizard cast a spell and come right back?

If you banish a creature next to a portal that connects the 2 areas can the creature just cross back?

If there’s 2 spellcasters that cast banish a on say 2 hezrou are they ported to the same area?

There are no rules at all for exactly where on their native plane a banished creature ends up, so if it matters the DM will have to decide.

We do know that only creatures banished from their native plane to a pocket dimension are incapacitated, so creatures banished to their native plane can presumably act normally, including using plane traveling magic to go back to where they were banished from.

Some might depend on what edition you are talking about. Most of your questions are DM dependent though.

the new 5.5e rules are below.

It says you are incapacitated for the minute before you come back. If you are one of the special types listed you do not come back. If concentration breaks, I'm guessing the spell ends and you all come back.
