How hard is a Half-Celetial Template for a GM?

I was just looking over the most beneficial race to be for my character and I stumbled upon Half-Celestial, I don't know all too much about it yet, except it gives a +2 WIS and CHR with no stat negatives. Can someone please summerize exactly what a Half-Celestial is and why my GM thinks its so incredibly complex to use in a game?

The spell-like abilities, the energy resistances, DR, SR, various other special abilities.
Oh, and the LA.

Are what make it difficult.

If you want to know why your GM thinks the way he does you'll need to ask him. We have some great people around here but none of them are mind readers. :cool:
 

And the Aasimar, which might be what you were thinking of, since you said Wis/Cha +2, which is closer to this one than the much more powerful Half-Celestial.

A planetouched like an Aasimar is fairly easy for a DM; two minor stat increases, darkvision, a few resists, and a minor spell-like ability aren't bad at all. It's LA +1, but if you're using the Unearthed Arcana rules for paying off level adjustments, that's easy enough to get rid of.

Half-celestial is more problematic, as it's a +4 LA. That's not so bad if everybody's at ECL 20, but you'll have one hit die at 5th level. That means that you'll fold like a cheap napkin if hit.
