How important is size?

Sorry if this has been addressed already...

What do we know about how important size will be in 4e? Will being large be a huge advantage as it (supposedly) is in 3rd edition?

I ask because I've decided I'm going to be using Azeroth (insert WoWification-of-4e comments here) as my setting for my first 4th edition campaign, which means among other things I'm going to have to create Tauren as a race and likely will make them large.

I'd say go for it, it doesn't seem to be as large an advantage in 4e as 3e and there were a couple races or templates that acquired it in 3e with a +1LA. Since all 4e races are effectively +1LA then I don't see a problem.

Tauren race should be normal as the rest, they are not that big. Aren't male trolls taller than female taurens?

I don't know anything about WoW but it should be no problem statting up a balanced large race. Races Have a higher base level than 3E so you could easily put +4STR, +2CON, -2INT & CHA or whatever abilities wise. Also reach generally works only during your turn, IIRC, which removes a big 3E advantage.
All told I expect to see a lot of large PC races appearing half-ogres etc and balancing them will be easy because of the higher power of the core races.

World of Warcraft d20 exists. I haven't read it and can't endorse it, but I'd certainly pick it up if I wanted to run a game in WoW's world.

Relative to a human, a male tauren's about the size I picture a [D&D] ogre in my head.

For a Tauren, I would probably say +2 STR and WIS, +2 Nature and Survival (or whatever) and a per-encounter Stomp that has a radius of 1, deal 1d6+STR and you roll STR vs. Fort. If they fail, they are dazed for 1 round.
Clean up as you like, but that seems to be the easiest thing to do. Maybe CON instead of WIS, but most seem to be a mix of physical and mental for bonuses.

Half-giants, from Expanded Psionic Books, are normal sized, probably same height/weight as Taurens. Although they are considered large creatures for several things (Grapple, weapons, etc.). Maybe try that?

It's mechanically dreadful and I think 4th Edition would much better mechanically for it anyways.
