Was at the mall and saw it n the shelf, did not pick it up this time around, doing the gift thing but how is Gemmell's White Wolf? I know it has Druss in it but?

How is Gemmell's White Wolf?

I haven't read White Wolf. But to be honest, I've never read a 'bad' Gemmell book. He is one of the few authors who I'll buy on name alone.
The writing style is excellent as Gemmel's always is, and as a stand alone book it's good.
That said, I didn't like it as much as the Druss centric novels and It wasn't near as good as the Waylander series. Maybe I'm getting a little tired of the "Unstopable killing machine that has a past he'd rather forget", schtik which this one definately belongs to.

It's a decent Gemmel. Which means a good read but a little transparent. His newer stuff (Iron Falcon Trilogy) is, IMO, his best writing to date.

I'm a big Gemmel fan, I have all his books, some signed, several copies of a few, and even the two graphic novels of his work that were released.
So I'm probably biased
But, I thought that Winter Wolf was a good Druss novel.
Gemmel has said that he believes the public will always consider Legend his best book (published originally as "Against the Horde" in the US, due to the release of the Tom Cruise film "Legend" at the same time), although he doesn't agree.
The statement he's made, IIRC, is "if I die at 100 then a newspaper headline will read 'Author of Legend dies aged 100'"
Druss is a character that his readers cry out for, and this is another novel answering those cries. If you like Druss, you should like Winter Wolf.
Gemmel writes to a style, and that style involves the natural repetition of stories. So, his stories can seem repetative. But I still think he's wonderful.
Oh, and I think that the Bloodstone series (which started with Wolf In Shadow) is probably my favourite of his series.

Iron Falcon? Do you mean the Rigante series? Or is this something totally different?
I love Gemmell's writing!
And the Rigante series is some of the Best!
The later 2 books are in interesting twist on "sequels" as things have changed a bit and the general setting is rather different. (Didn't want to give any spoilers so I tried to keep that pretty vague.)
And that series has some of the best War stuff I have
read.

Iron Falcon ---- who can tell the difference? I agree the sequels are unusual but I really liked them. I agree with some of the war scenes being extremely well crafted.
