How is Improved Many Shot better than Many Shot?

The ELH states that Improved Manyshot has no restrictions on how many shots you get, based on +5 base attack bonus after 6. Which is the normal progression anyways.

Manyshot says you are capped at 4 shots at base attack 16.

BUT, you are not supposed to get more than 4 attacks from base attack bonus right? You would need a base attack bonus to get your 5th shot at 21 base attack.

Is this possible, or how does this work really? Is there any reason to even take the epic level feat? :confused: :confused:

As much as I love Manyshot, Improved Manyshot is a little ridiculous, IMO. Four arrows is pushing it for feasibility, the max you can fire with Manyshot; five or more just gets goofy.

If something in fantasy is a stretch in real life that's one thing, but if it would look stupid even in a fantasy movie (just try to picture Legolas nocking seven arrows in his bow at the same time) then its disallowed IMC.

You mean like Phantasmal Killer, Vorpal weapons, and Dragons? Yeah, they're all pretty rediculous. You know, it occurs to me that if you took out the dungeons, dragons, magic, monsters, races, and the hit point system, this game would really rock.
 

You'd think people would discard hyperbole when it's not useful. Some people can even tell the difference between a fantasy film and a Mel Brooks' spoof.

And the AC, BAB, saving throws, and gods. Oh, and you need to get rid of the people playing it around a table. That's not realistic. You need to actually go out with weapons and fight things to see realism. :rolleyes:

Very good point. Because there is no middle ground between hyper-realism and the dumbest things someone could possibly conceive to put in a game.

By definition, if you have elves and dragons, you must include Mercurial Quarterstaff wielding Leprechauns that carry wooden chairs strapped to their backs in case they need to jump off cliffs. Otherwise it just isn't fantasy.
 

Ok, I've been absent for awhile, but this is the second time today I see a reference to chairs and falling - where did this come from? :)

Sorry, I know about the bad physics idea of jumping off a chair as you're hitting the ground, but I mean where did this start on these forums? Just curious as I'd like to read that thread for fun.

Yeah, but would the Mel Brooks world be more fun to play in?

Notching seven arrows and point them upward, fire them, and live MIRVs they all automatically go toward their targets.
