13 - that's actually more than I thought I had. After getting the complete series, I decided I didn't need any more "here's a bunch of Races, PRC's, feats, spells and rules to destablize your game!" books. I feel for the RPGA, trying to accomodate such a huge matrix of options. Be interesting to see overtime if they have to take steps to deal with certain combos. I'll pick up some more FR regional books in the end though - I like the fluff.

PHB, DMG, MM, Miniatures Handbook
Complete: Warrior, Divine, Arcane, Adventurer
Player's Guide to Faerûn, Underdark, Shining South
Dragonlance Campaign Setting
Eberron Campaign Setting

First, you list all adventures in the 2e part, I don think that those can be seen as actual rules books. The number of released adventures in 2e is quite big compared to the one in 3.5. That alone would shrink your 2e list quite a bit.
I think it's fair to list adventures, they were products after all. ;)

Also 2e did have around 7+ or so campaign settings while 3.5 has only 3.
And this is what supposedly 'killed' tSR ;)

not only campaign settings but games.

birthright was a different game in comparison to say Greyhawk and the Forgotten Realms. had different rules and used some different mechanics.

same could be said for battlesystem.

or D&D vs. 2edADnD

like Hollow World or other Mystara stuff.

They $ue Regularly really did their best to stretch the line too thin.

I counted 8. I stopped buying for about 8 months, simply because I had more than enough material and had to kick the habit. These days, what I do buy is not usually WoTC 3.5 (recent purchases include Grim Tales, Slavelords of Cydonia, C&C, but I did pick up the DMG II).

Not that I don't like 3.5, I really do. I was just getting bogged down in rules and not thinking about enjoying the game. Plus, there was no reason to spend all that money on stuff I would never use.

i'll have to go look. if i did buy them i don't think i opened them. cuz i had the screens, dice, and character sheets already. i bought a lot of stuff i never opened during the 2edADnD days.
I sympathize diaglo - have the same problem myself.

I finally broke down and starting a spreadsheet inventory separated by product setting and release (AD&D, D&D, Forgotten Realms, etc.). I use it to figure out if some item I come across at a convention or online is one that I need or not. Otherwise I wouldn't remember at all. :\

Huh. Only 14. I thought I had more than that. Then again, I have many 3.0 books, so I may have been counting those in with 3.5. Counting the 3.0 books, it would be in the 31-40 range.
