Technically speaking, I am an alt

I first started posting under a different name (chosen out of whimsy) but then made a new account under my real name (this one) when I started working with athas.org and wanted to be identified as myself. I quit athas.org a couple of years back but have stuck with this account since. I pretty much never post with the original account anymore.

Not only do I have only one alt here, but I keep the same name wherever I go...and I've never encountered another person using it, so none of them have a number either.

Yep, same here. I find it just easier to have 1 internet name. My username is the name of my first D&D character (I was 15 at the time so I wasn't exactly original with my choice of name). I use Olaf the Stout on non-D&D websites that I sign up to as well.

Aeolius was the first screen name I made for AOL (AppleLinkE, back then) in 1985. I tend to use that everywhere I go. Oddly enough, the Aeolius on Yahoo Groups, YouTube, Skype, and a few other boards is NOT me.

I'm pretty much always myself on web forums; my username is first initial/last name, and the last name is not very common.

Oddly, I had never even really thought in terms of having multiple accounts for a board ... I have a hard enough time simply keeping track of who I am from board to board...

I made a new account once when I was having trouble logging into the forums, but it didn't work. So, I posted a thread using the default "I'm a Spammer!" tag they implemented in Meta a while back. Never used it since, probably auto-banned by the forum anyway.

i try to stay as diaglo on all the boards i join. sometimes that is not possible.
also some times i play pbp or similar style games.

i think i have 2 over here. i only remember the password and name to one of them.

on Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page i had about 2 to 3 dozen.
