According to WotC, all 4E books are "core".

I've just started GM'ing a 4E game now, but doing so with only the first 3 books. Despite my impresssion that you almost need to buy more than the first 3 books to get a complete game (only 1 controller?) I'm looking for my gaming experience to drive any future purchases.

I voted "0" but I should have voted "1" I forgot that I did buy the starter set for my son.

Goodman has been getting all my 4E money.

5... I bought H123, AV and MP... I will definitely buy PH/DM/MM 2 and all power source books. I doubt I'll get AV2, it turns out that it is the least used book. Now with Character Builder out it's even less useful.

My brother picked up the FR stuff and it's so similar to core fantasy that I was okay just reading it over and ditching.

I am eager to purchase Eberron

I'll be picking up PHB 2 and Dungeon Delve. That will be the last of the 4e books I'll be buying unless the DMG 2 is something special or a Greyhawk supplement book comes out.

As long as the price stays the same for the dungeon tiles, there's always a possibility I'll pick up more sets.

I like the adventures, but I'll be holding off on the P* series until my group actually gets up to that level before I decide.
