I currently have 90 books in my collection including boxed sets, which I counted as one product. I also have roughly 10 to 15 PDF products.

Cheers!

For those of you with books approaching (or exceeding) the thousands, have you actually read them all? Do you get them for just one part that you use or do you actually read the whole thing?

Granted, my RPG collection is small, but I've read every book I own. I hate it when gits look at my books and drawl "Yu red thoz?"

If it's on the shelf, I read it. Did I fully assimilate the info? Not always. Did I understand and/or use every bit? Not all that often, but more frequently than not. Did I actually read them after I paid my hard cash? You betcha.

For d20 I have 184 books, include pdf's and I have 198. Throw in all my other gaming books and I don't want to know. Are we supposed to count Dungeon and Dragon magazines? If so add a bunch more Dungeon (about 34) and 8 Dragon. For d20. For prior to that add every issue of Dragon back to issue 72 and every issue of Dungeon back to 12. Plus Best of Dragon Vol 2 through 5.

I can definitely appreciate that sentiment. However, I have a tendency to hoard things I like. I have and have had dozens of books, computer games, etc, that I haven't read or played because I thought they were cool and I had to have them but time constraints prevented me from actually enjoying them. For example, I bought neverwinter nights when it first came out and had it for 4-5 months before trading it in, never having played it ( I bought it again for my birthday in June and STILL haven't played it). The entire Shannara series (the first, not Heritage) has been sitting on my shelf for heaven knows how long, unread.

And in the past I have bought RPG books that I never made it all the way through. It's even harder with RPG books because you never know if you are going to be in a game where you can use them.

BTW Greylock, you a FF fan? Demons of the Deep is the first FF book I read. It was great, got me hooked on the series.

"Game" books or "real" books?

I have a library of slightly over 3000 books. No, I have not read all of them, although this is not from want of trying. Of course some of them are not really there to "read", but rather to "research" -- I use the Durant "Story of Civilization" books as a great starting point for historical information (albeit taken with much more than simply a grain of salt). I have read almost all of the 500+ books I have on the Arthurian legends, if that is a help.

As to game books, well, there are several there that I am unable to actually claim I have fully read, much less played. Several fall into the category of "...someday..." Then again, many of the other game books have come to be due to editing or playtesting work, so my total spent on these is not as large as might otherwise be imagined. ;)
