How many house rules do you have?

For example:
1. Fumble rule
2. Alignments not used
3. Ability score generation method: DMG 28 point buy
4. New races (count as one rule)
5. All skills are class skills
6. New Feats (count as one rule)
7. List of Modified Feats (count as one rule)
8. List of modified spells (count as one rule)
9. List of modified classes (count as one rule)
10. New classes (count as one rule)
11. New item: Helmet
etc.

I chose "Too numerous to count", but really meant, "More than I want to spend time counting right now".

Using your methodology for counting, however, it is a much more managable number.

Not that many. Attribute generation is in the rules even if it is point buy so not a house rule. We do feat a level, a couple extra skill points a level, and a couple extra class skills. and that's about it. We use a few optional rules from the books here and there but again those aren't house rules.

It depends on the campaign, and the feel I am trying to capture for it...

For instance, the last game that I ran (an update of keep on the borderlands) was basically by the book, with the addition of a few new feats, classes, and spells. The game before that was a political space opera, so it had just a butt-load of extra rules to give the players plenty of options to take advantage of all that space-singing politicking goodness. The next game that I am planning to run is going to be an over the top alternate history epic, wherein the characters will (hopefully) cause their people to become the dominant force on the planet... So it, too, will have many many house rules to allow for all sorts of high powered wackiness.
