How Many Movies In How Many Days?

I'm going to cling to my image of you as a strong, silent type, magnetic and compelling, riding across the lone prairie, alone, undaunted, the very picture of masculine independence....

He isn't, but I might be.

Anyone know any good films beginning with K and Z, since they are the two letters missing from my collection.

Then I just need to persuade my wife to go away for a month.

Zorba the Greek
Zero
Dr. Zhivago
Kramer vs. Kramer
Kalifornia

Zorro
Zero Hour
Zardoz - eeewww Sean Connery in a Loin Cloth!
Zachariah - possibly the worst 'cowboy' movie ever
Zoolander

But stop on by if you feel like laughing at my ill-informed opinions on movies!

:D
Akira, Black Orpheus and Crime Story - I've never seen any of those films, but I enjoyed your reviews. I thought they were were thoughtful, well written and pretty much spoiler free.

It would be great if you could do Drunken Master II next (if its not too late) as I haven't seen that either.

I'd probably have watched Aliens, Blade Runner and Casablanca - cleverly showcasing my lack of imagination and also ensuring I wouldn't be able to say anything in my review which hasn't been said a million times before!

Anyway, so on Saturday night I took down Akira and watched that. And then I thought, "Heck, I've got things to say about what I just saw, but my usual repartee partner isn't here. Darn." Then I had my second realisation of the night -- I could post my thoughts on my blog!

And hey, you referenced my thread on fantasy vs. science fiction!

I'm not quite sure how I squeeked that thread into General, but I'm glad it stayed; it was a much more lively (and extended) discussion than it probably would have been here.

Anyway, I've never seen Akira, but I've been tempted. Thanks to your review, it's going on the Netflix queue. I've never heard of Black Orpheus as a movie or a book, and when you mentioned Marcel Camus, I initially confused him with Albert Camus. :o

And I agree Crime Story is a somewhat mediocre movie for someone like Jackie Chan. But that may partly be because I've seen movies where he excelled, so the bar is raised.

This is pretty fun! What do you have in mind for D, I wonder?
