WAY over 100. When you have been playing for such a long time and have had any involvement in RPGA or conventions the numbers rack up pretty quickly.

I said 11-20. That might be a bit low -- if I sat and remembered all the people that dropped in and out of the college D&D group, I might hit the next level. I've probably gamed with well over 100, but rarely was it D&D. In college we changed systems like some people change underwear -- every couple months :p

I've not played a straight D&D game with anyone other than my core group since 2nd Ed.

According to my records, 44 different people in Aquerra campaigns alone.

If I count conventions and other games before/during that time, the number is easily three times that.

I voted the 101+

I've been playing since 1974. In my early times, I was playing in 2-3 different campaigns a week. I've run an 'open' table game for most of that time and since most of my players are college/univerity students, there is a high turn over of players as students graduate and move on with their lives.

I have also run tables at conventions and run alot of demo games. I've played in alot of 'pickup' games.

I moved around alot during my years in the mililtary (going on training, going on operations) and always ran a game.

I can't calculate the number of people I have played with in 30+ years but I would say over 1000+ (yes, 1000+) would not be a exaggeration.

Until I started going to conventions, I played with maybe 20 to 40 people. Counting convention folk, it's easily 100 or more. Of those, only about 50 would I actively seek out to play repeatedly with.

After a bit of recollection and counting, I make it around 110. I am sure that there are a couple more, but I couldn't remember for sure, so I left it at that. I've been playing regularly for a long time in some pretty large gaming circles, hence lots of players in lots of different groups. All of those are regular gaming groups - no conventions at all (I've actually never been to a con as a "customer", only as a vendor or organiser).

~15 people in various "home" groups c. 1984-97
~20 people in various game club groups c. 1988-90
~75 people in various convention games c. 1987-91 (this is a guess and if anything is underestimated)
10 people in the current group that's been meeting since 2004

If I were counting non-D&D games it would probably be at least double, possibly triple (except for a couple nostalgic one-offs I basically didn't play D&D from c. 1991-2004). Playing in convention games is a good way to play with a lot of different people in a short period of time -- 2 tournaments of 2 rounds each with no overlapping players = 24 new people in one convention.

101+ easy

I started playing in '79 with original D&D, PrincCon variant rules. That was a group at a university that maxed at 18 players. I've had several regular gaming groups with different people in PA, NJ, NY, FL and NC. D&D was the primary game of most; although one group was purely supers. The smallest regular group I was in had three players and the GM; largest were two groups that had 18 players although not at the same time.

I've been to gaming conventions at GenCon, Newark, DE at Wilmarck Dynasty events, Origins, an event in Poughkeepsie, NY and a couple in NJ.

D&D is a great social game. :)
