How many souls does an Ettin have?

The two heads of Demogorgon can apparently kill each other, but neither wishes to, as that'd weaken their combined strength. That doesn't imply anything about souls necessarily, but based on that and how ettins have been portrayed, I'd give them and other two-headed creatures dual souls.

Do people with multiple personality disorder have more than one soul...I would say an ettin is like a Mulitple but with two outlets(heads) and that is not be a disorder, but that is just me.

I think it's clear from the Multivoice feat in Savage Species that WotC considers them to be one creature/mind that needs feats to use the functionality provided by the extra head.

If you think Ettins are bad, how about Hecatoncheires.

Actually it sounds like a great riddle, especially if somebody is only hearing it outloud (allowing them to confuse "souls" with "soles"): What has one brain, two heads and three soles?

Am I the only one that fines it odd that philosophers have spent years debating if a an Ettin has one or two souls?

I like the multiple personality idea. This wouldn't be "true" multiple personality (where a person shifts from one personality to another), of course, but the "two" minds would be connected in a limited fashion. They might have different personalities, different memories, but it would ultimately be one mind (a sort of hivemind, but much less connected than the Borg).
