The Shaman

First Post
I was reading the sometimes lengthy wish lists gamers have for 2012 releases, and I wondered, who has time to play all these?

I know that a fair segment of gamers are collectors as well as (or in some cases in lieu of) players, but I'm still curious how many roleplaying games actually get played.

So, how many different tabletop roleplaying games did you play this year? This includes games played face-to-face, play-by-post, play-by-email, chat, and Skype/Google+/Ventrilo/et al.

For my part, I played four different games this year: my Flashing Blades campaign, OD&D at a game day, and Boot Hill and 1e AD&D at a con, all face-to-face.

I'll list them here as I remember, and then vote.

Eclipse Phase
Castles and Crusades
Aces and Eights
Chthulhu Tech
Cthonian Stars
Traveller
Call of Chthulhu
Swords and Wizardry
Starblazer Adventures
Hackmaster Basic
Dragon Age
Legends of the 5 Rings

Probably a couple of more short or "one shot" game sessions.

The above are games I ran/played with my regular groups, the following are convention only games...

Mouse Guard
Fantasy Craft
Legends of Anglerre
Warhammer 3E
Game of Thrones
1E AD&D
Imperium Chronicles.

Pathfinder is my regular game. Did play in a Call of Cthulhu game and d20 Star Wars game this summer as well. One-shot for Cthulhu and a mini-campaign arc for the Star Wars game. Would have been able to play in another game or two, but my schedule didn't work out.

A lot of these I played at conventions but many of them were short campaigns with some on hiatus. In the main I've mostly played Pathfinder (my kids campaign) and Traveller (a friends and my shared campaign) and lately Deathwatch (my campaign).

One: 3.5e (World of Greyhawk, Underwater, Chock Full o' Hags... )

Mind you, I've been DMing 3.5e exclusively since it was introduced, and 3e exclusively before that. So, since 2000 I have in essence only DMed 3.x.

As for being on the player's end of the DM's screen, it's been over twenty years since I role-played a PC, and that was in a 1e campaign.
