How much AC is DR 5/- worth?

Of course, that calculation leaves out a number of details. Such as for instance, that the cost of +8 armor is FAR FAR more than the cost of +5 armor of invulnerability.

And, if you want +4 AC of bonusses when you already have +4 armor, +4 ring of protection, and a +3 amulet of natural armor, you need to spend 9000+gp to get +5 armor, 18,000+gp to upgrade the ring of protection, and 32,000gp to upgrade the amulet of natural armor. (Meanwhile, going to +4 armor of invulnerability costs only 28,000gp).

The value of +x AC depends upon what it stacks with.

You should note that AC and DR are very different, so comparing magic items might not work well. +1 Armor of Invulnerability costs the same as +4 Armor. But if you want +4 AC worth of bonuses, you could get +2 Armor, a +1 Ring of Deflection and a +1 Amulet of Natural Armor for 8k, while the armor would be 16k. This would make it seem like DR 5/- should be worth more than +3 AC.

Adamantine Armor

When you buy adamantine armor...

DR 1/- is worth 5,000 gp
DR 2/- is worth 10,000 gp
DR 3/- is worth 15,000 gp

However, I doubt DR 5/- would/should be 25,000 gp.

Alright. I had just thought of that when I read your reply, incidentally. How much AC is 20 HP worth?

That depends a lot on the level. At level one, +20 hp is equivalent to +40 constitution or 7 feats. At level twenty, it's equivalent to +2 con or 1 feat.

UA has a option for Armor as DR.
Fullplate provides a +8 armor bonus, using this rule it, would provide a +4 armor bonus and DR 4/-, so if you think about it, a +10 armor bonus armor would provide a +5 armor bonus and DR 5/-, so the least amount of AC Bonus you should give your BRB is 5 and as you already considered it should be a dodge bonus.

Another comment: If you have UA, think about changing the barbarian rage to whirling frenzy. It fits the concept better.

Already did. I don't have UA, but I got whirling frenzy from a preview on the WotC site. Actally, that's what inspired this project in the first place :) So, currently I'm going to give +7 AC over 20 levels, in exchange for DR 5/- and apprx. 20 HP. Seems good to all?

As Darklone mentioned maybe a bonus on fighting defensely, adding tumble as a class skill and maybe somewhere give the class combat expertise for free, and give the class an AC bonus (dodge) of 5 due to the mathe I mentioned before.
