How Much Do Spend Per Month To Entertain Yourself?

I'm curious to know how much EnWorlders typically spend for entertainment purposes (Books/novels, dvds, comics, video games, other hobbies) per month?

Including gaming books and dvds (this is pretty much where I spend all my money) I spend between $100-$150 a month to entertain myself.

Too much money.

An average of $40 a month on clubs/movies (not including food and parking).
$10 - $20 on comic books each week (Stupid marvel and their expensive one offs).
$30 - 60 on Dvds/music a month
I haven't bought any gaming books in a while (No 4e for me... only Green Ronin).

I suppose every two months or so I find time to invest in some DVDs, which comes out around 50 € per month, plus gaming material round 30 €. There might be some "hidden" stuff I forget, so I round up to 100 € per month.

I actually have $30 a month budgeted towards entertainment, though looking back at the past few months I haven't been good at keeping to it on average. But it looks like the things that put me over budget were large, unusual purchases, like the fee to attend a high school reunion.

Most of the time Awayfarer and I don't spend much on entertainment stuff. We might spend a dollar a week on renting movies (yay for Redbox!). Sometimes, not often, we'll go see a movie in the theater which will probably come out to $20 or so for two people, including snacks. Every once and a while I'll buy a computer or DS game, usually not for more than $20.

It has been a looong time since I've had to spend any of my own money on books, D&D or otherwise. I have a membership to Barnes & Noble and also have a credit card that sends me a $25 gift certificate to B&N each time I spend $2500 on the card. I use my credit card for just about everything, so I wrack up these gift cards pretty fast, and I pay off my entire card balance each month so I never pay any interest on the card.

This varies radically...

Some months I spend essentially nothing -- oh, a couple of bucks for a cup of coffee or two, but that is all. Other months I spend $100 or more, getting game books, reading material, cds, etc.

This last month, it was about $30.

Well, do you want us to include our cable/satellite TV and/or internet connection costs in the total? For most of us, that's probably largely entertainment as well...

Hmm, hadn't thought about that, but yeah.

Add $50 to my monthly total to include for the internet connection, as I'm the only one of two people in the house that uses the net. Probably another $25/mo for TV.

So my tally is: $100-$150 pure spending money and another $75 on internet & tv, for a total of $175 - $225 (at most) per month.

Sitting around with your buddies telling stories about the one that got away: Priceless
