Hasbro has won that ethics award TWELVE times.
what companies were qualified / participating? One company winning 12 times already feels weird just by how often they won

EDIT: ok, so they did not win in the classical sense, they along with other companies were recognized... for example Pepsi 'won' it 17 times

"The Ethisphere Institute is a for-profit company that, for a fee, defines and measures corporate ethical standards,"

"Ethisphere has been criticized for its business model and the possible conflict of interest created when other companies pay for an assessment."

"Companies that are recognized often advertise for Ethisphere and pay additional licensing fees for the right to use the year-specific World’s Most Ethical Companies logo."

Again, this is my point. See you did a bit of due diligence and looked into things. You rightly recognized that this “award” is a meaningless gimmick. Great.

That’s a far cry from “Hasbro bought an ethics award”. Which, while technically true is incredibly misleading and typical click bait garbage.

Like I said. This is my point. People automatically assuming the truth without any due diligence and then repeating said “truth” again and again.

To the point where actually asking for anything like corroborating evidence is seen as a bad thing. Any questioning of the “truth” gets you branded as a shill.

well, as you say, it is not entirely wrong to say Hasbro bought an ethics award. I see no harm in asking for evidence / offense in being asked for evidence, about Hasbro or anything else. I am sure some people react poorly to it, people react poorly to just about anything, I would not see that as some kind of conspiracy to dunk on Hasbro however

It seems thst it is a consulting firm that gives out awards to their clients that are really more like certificates.

So, once again, pretty standard corporate stuff, like the BBB scam.

Not really any bearing on toy products.

Yet on road trips, I never go to mom and pop restaurants in strange towns (unknown quantity), but go to plenty of McDonalds.
Sure, I have tried McDees in various countries, but when it comes to general travelling I prefer to try the Mom&Pop places - better way to meet people, strike up interesting conversations, try new recipes/foods, as a result have better stories and eventually become King of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Realm...
