I answered "Other" because of the following:

The primary game book being used for my current (very new) campaign is AU. This is supplemented heavily with Skull & Bones and Swashbuckling Adventures, along with The Complete Book of Eldritch Might and a lot of house rules (over 50 pages of character class and racial rewrites, three non-AU character classes, re-interpreted skills, new spells, changes to weapons, no intelligent monsters or planes, etc.). All the race relations have changed. The Mojh are a true race now, not magically altered humans. We do not use Diamond Throne, but rather our own semi-Isthmus of Panama setting (New Mavarga). Oh, and we use the level advancement chart from the main D20 rules, as we saw no need to alter them.

I'm not sure I can call it truly AU anymore, but it certainly isn't D&D either. I guess it is just Our Game ;)

I first want to point out that it is Monte Cook. No e at the end. This is from someone who made a point when someone put Legends instead of Lands (of the Jade Oath).

And while I am at it, Malhavoc ends with a c not a k like some people like to put it.
Monte's name has been fixed from the spelling error I made at approximately 1am last night.

Though I don't understand why I am getting remarks about a post that was an inside joke between me and another poster (whom I know off-board) on another message board and has nothing to do with a spelling error, but rather something different. (Note the smiles on both posts over there on that board.)

I don't know who made the "c" vs. "k" error and don't have time to check. :p

EDIT: Thanks for pointing the spelling errors out BTW. :o

Not like it/don't have it.

My players and I are really into the stereotypes and cliches that much of ENWorld rails against.

The AU races I don't use (too furry, in general -- since I use Savage Species, new races aren't really all THAT appealing anyway). I use the classes, and those using the classes use most of the rules in the book.

Which is totally independant from a wizard, who uses most of the rules in the Core book.

I don't use the diamond throne at all because the CS wasn't worth the purchase price for me...though Arcana Evolved may solve *that* little problem, if it looks yummy enough.

AU fills a zone far to the East of my campaign setting, and it blends with the core as much as cultural contact will allow. It's also an Evil Empire...can't wait until the Hexblade in the party meets their first Mageblade....:)

Currently, I'm only using the Unfettered and a couple of the feats in my Eberron campaigns (one online that hasn't quite started yet, and one offline where we've played one session). That's mostly because I figured Eberron could use a class that was (a) good at fighting, (b) relatively skilled, (c) didn't use heavy armor, and (d) wasn't a ranger. Comparing the unfettered to the Complete Warrior's Swashbuckler, I determined that the unfettered was a lot broader in application (the Swashbuckler is very focused on being Errol Flynn, while the Unfettered is more generic), which is why I'm using that.

That said, once I'm done with the Eberron campaign(s), I'm likely to run Arcana Unearthed next, because I really do want to run it (or play in it). Though I'd have to make some rule modifications to fit 3.5e sensibilities (weapon sizes, DR, using 3.5e-style flurry of blows for the Oathsworn, etc.).

Also don't like the fury things...

Like previous posters I like the Tolkien racial stereotypes and the existing D&D class stereotypes and while open to some others (asian for example) I'm not that interested in the AU stereotypes. The races are too fury so I can't relate to them (has anyone ever happened to have seen Monte at a convention dressed as a rabbit? ;) ) and the classes all seem like some kind of prestige thingy. Finally there are some new rule variants that I won't use but that I'll modify to fix things I don't like about 3E (deaths door for example). It is a very well done product though.

I tried running a full-blown AU/Diamond Throne game, but since I'm anal-retentive, and I wanted the flavor to be fully AU, I found that I didn't have enough time to convert existing adventures and/or create my own totally from scratch.

So, I'm going to restart my campaign in Eberron and use some things from AU, such as:
• Totem Warriors, Unfettered, Warmains
• Faen (Loresong, Quicklings, Sprytes), Litorians, Verrik (along with racial levels for these races
• The idea that Wizards need some sort of arcane focus through which to channel their power (along with penalties if they lose it)
• The ability of Wizards being able to spontaneously cast any spell they've prepared as long as they have their arcane focus
• Any feats or equipment that seem reasonable, especially things like dire weapons

I really like AU's magic system, but it's too much work to convert standard D&D to fit (flavor-wise) into it. I work full-time and go to school, so the best I can do is modify exisiting adventures to fit my meta-plots (and an original adventure/locale here and there). A whole campaign from scratch, as you all know, is very time-consuming.

I combine a little of AU into my D&D v.3.5 game. I use the faen as a race, slightly modified. I also use the Champion and Unfettered alongside more traditional D&D classes. As an aside, I wanted a swashbuckling character class, and after considering both the Swashbuckler from Complete Warrior and the Unfettered, I went with the latter.

don't have it. would like to get it, but gaming budget's kinda tight. maybe ebay? ;)

would always like to add more to my homebrew. first it was "vile", now it's "exalted", always with some swashbuckling adventures. changed magics to the swords & sorcery adv. players' gd. mana system. will add eberron's adepts vs. clerics. what's a good bit for AU?
