How much of your collection do you use?

I *have* used about 90-95% of my collection... which now fills 58 square feet of book-case (some shelves 2 books deep).

Actively use? Good lord... maybe 10%, more likely 2-3%

I mean, I own about 120 different RPGs at last count.

Hmmm, around 100% of the books and PDFs get used, but not 100% of the contents of every book. Sometimes its a system that I found nifty, a class that I liked, or items that I wanted in my game. So roughly 50% of the contents, perhaps.

Considering the sheer volume of RPG books I have, I use about 11-20 percent. I try to take snippets from much more, but its hard to get around to it all with little spare time and over 200 books.

At any given time I probably am only using less than 10% of my collection. Over the years I have probably pulled stuff from about 50-60%. The rest I could have done without.

I've used or modified some some small thing from maybe 30-40% of the titles that I own (except the ones that I haven't read yet, which is another question again) but the items that I've used extensively or regularly are much fewer. Thus, 11-20%.

120! Wow! I can't even imagine naming half that many. That's more RPGs than most have books or pdfs. Have you ever actually played all of them? I'm quite frankly, flabbergasted.

In any event, it seems the poll is a lot flatter than I would've expected. It's encouraging to see that we're not only collectors, but people who support the industry by actively playing its games!

I try to use at least something from every book and magazine I own. I'll go through the stuff periodically and check if there is something applicable to the current situation in the game. Of course, I haven't used 100% of every book (and never will), but I've used at least 91% of all the books I own.

None of it. My group's members have all moved away for school and work. Until a catastrophic tectonic event compresses the tri-state area into one small city-sized mass, I won't be running a game.

That's not fun. Try and at least use one thing from each book -- plus, forcing yourself to do that can lead to some new ideas.
