Our characters hardly ever swear, but we have our weak moments. None of my villains have gone further than the PG-rated ones, but we occasionally earn an "M" for Mature rating.

yep - take "bugger off" and replace the word with something else, and as far as i know they mean the exact same thing. ;)

Not exactly the same. Buggerey is a specific act which is frequently illegal in this country. Texas and the military off the top of my head.

Buggery is screwing an animal in the arse.
And yes, the Dwarves hear about that a lot. Thats the peril of having them always have crappy Scottish accents.
I've cracked many a Dwarf bestiality joke and personally I'm a huge fan. Of the dwarves, buggery ain't my thing.
Ewe.

Yeah, there's some swearing at our games, mostly out of character, but also because most of us refer to the characters in 3rd person about 60% of the time.

I actually manged to offend my players with an NPC. The entire party are Elves. Their first encounter with a human had them saving his life and him going into a tirade about how he couldn't believe he was saved "by a bunch of points".

The looks on their faces as they realized it was a slur made me know I had a winner of an NPC they'd love to hate. They were (as players) really worried to leave their forest as they thought they'd be hated wherever they go.

Nope, this guys just a jerk face. They haven't seen him in quite a while, but they are going to need to deal with him again. They wicked don't like him.

Actually it is legal now in Texas...thanks to the courts...

Swearing

I think our group is OK on swearing, now if you wanted to talk about political views....be happy some of our guys do not have their fingers on "the Button." Ian.

In our group we all say pretty much whatever comes to our mind, and while it may sound harsh, cruel or downright foul, we do it just for laughs. And boy do we get some good laughs. It's all about the funny for us.

Now I have to ask. I have met quite a few sailors in my life, and I think that they all have been pretty tame when it comes to swearing. In fact a current one that works with a friend of mine blushes something fierce evertime he hears us talking. Why is it that sailors are the ones that are considered the worst for bad language? Why not marines or other soldiers?
