You're pricing is way off in this poll. Juding the approximate page count, quality of layout, and good detail, this should sit around $30-$35 for a hardback copy.
it shouldn't be a hardback and should be priced $15-18.

If I knew what the heck TP:B was i could tell you.

I am sick of acronyms.
Amen.

This book looks nice, and I expect this poll has generated more than its fair share of publicity for it as well. I wouldn't pay more than 25-30 of your American Dollars for it in print though.

Other:

One *million* dollars!!

Err... seriously. What in the ninth layer of Hell is this book you speak of? And why would it be worth up to $60?

Sounds like the general consensus is that mythusmage needs to put a few more skill points into Craft (poll). :)
I don't think so. It looks more like a badly disguised ad to me ;). Putting the inappropriate "Adventures" tag in front of the thread, using an obviously (at least to the general public) meaningless acronym in the title that makes people curious enough to look into the thread, stating that it's "a $20 pdf greatly undervalued at $14", and putting up a "Shackled City" MSRP price tag in the poll options all speak for this notion.

As for the poll itself, sorry, I'm not really interested (I've got very nice zoology encyclopedias). Plus, I'd like to have an "Advertisement" tag in addition to the "Adventures" one, though mythusmage probably meant that the words sharing the same four starting letters is similar enough :D.

Hmmm, definitely not an adventure...

While the product looks rather interesting, I don't think I'd buy it as a bound volume -- it appears to be fine as a .pdf; then again, I'm not sure I'd even pay $14 for it. $10 yes. And I really don't think having 5 different covers is a "selling point" -- decide on one, go with it, and that should be all.

I must admit that I had to check this poll out strictly because of tha acronym. I had no notion what adventure this referred to and now find that it isn't an adventure at all -- certainly helps my poor, rattled brain. Acronyms are only helpful and useful when you know that a large number of people recognize them. Let's hear it for the cities and counties that are including "No Acronym" laws for their meetings! ;)

That's me!

Anyway, I suppose the book could be okay, but honestly, I don't really need a book on animals. I'd rather buy the book of templates [which I did] to add in interesting stuff to my game.

Thanks, Alzrius, for the link. From what was written on that page, it looks like it is pretty well made. If the inside is really that good, congrats, but I wish they would do something other than plain old animals.

I think people are not seeing the intersting question here: why "Adventure"? All the issues with the poll are mere symptoms of the underlying machiavellian intiruge that is at the root of this post.

The clue, is in the "Adventure" tag.

Ask yourselves, why would mythusmage, a respected and sound member of our community, put an Adventure tag on this poll? Mythusmage is wise and knowledgable, and surely knows it is not the fitting tag. If he put it there, there must be a reason. Is this just a small oversight? An error? A momentary lapse of reason?
I think not.

From the dawn of time mankind has been at war, an eteranl war with the predators of this world. And now, a book is published, pertaining to tell you everything about them - their HD, their vulnerabilites, even how to hunt them.
I warn you - this is nothing but a ploy to lure us into false assurance and pride! By putting the "Adventure" tag on this thread, mythusmage is subliminally suggesting you join the great adventure and try to hunt the animals yourselves. And by providing misleading information in the book, he and the writers hope to create a massive wave of unsuccesfull hunters, whose blood will herald the apocalypse!
Imagine the poor hunter's suprise when he finds out that a black bear has more than 4 HD! The numerous d20 players that will be trampled to death by an enraged elephant, thinking a mere 1d12 axeblow could do him in!
The flood of blood that will drench the world, the souls taken by the claws of these fell beasts, will echo more primordial times where man fought these same beasts for mere survival. From there, it is but a small step to reach a more distant time, a time before man, before reason.
THE BLOOD OF THE INNOCENT SHALL OPEN THE WAY TO THE DREAMING ONE!

For is it not MythusMage that has brought this post upon us?
BEWARE THE RISE OF CTHULHU!

:p

Why "Adventure"? Because there's no "Accessory" tag.
