Our group is now in it's 21st year, and the players currently range in age from 30 to 49. Four members of the group are founding members and two others have been around for almost that long. We have a running joke about how we will eventually all have to go to the same nursing home to continue our campaign in our later years.

Part of the reason that you don't see massive numbers of younger gamers is that if they're spending time on the internet, they spend it at places were they can talk w/o ussing corect spelin or nuthin 411 da grammer and stuff h3r3 scares them... if u was les exact bout stuff and had cursin and stuf den we'd show up...

But on a serious note, I think that most of the kids my age are posting on NWN forums instead of ENworld. I run a thriving (30+ and growing) RPG club at my school, and while I have gotten them to buy books and dice, most of them play more CRPGs, and very few care enough to spend hours discussing it in their free time. Of course the fact that we have to play at lunch really limits us, but I hope that I can organize some afterschool or weekend meetings.

I'm 29, and have been gaming since I was 8.
The local university games club (of which I am still nominally a member) still gets recruits every year, and still runs the local gaming convention. I don't think we have to worry too much that the hobby is dying out. I think these boards attract an older crowd, is all.
Plus, older gamers like to boast about how long they have been playing, so more will post to the thread.

I am 15 years old. I will be 16 in roughly four months.

Most of my RL friends play DnD, but we don't play between us much... since roughly last year, all of my games have been out in the IC forum here at EN World...

I have an extreme dislike for "age-ism", and I think that it is unfair to say that younger players are "less mature" than those who are older. Of course, that's not what this thread is talking about, and is a whole different subject altogether, so I'll refrain from stating any further opinions on the matter...
