Dungeons and Dragons? No, I've never played that. These? Oh well, there's a good explanation for that.. You see my friends are doing this website, and er um.. You see I want to help them, so uh, they lent me these so I could well, you see.. No wait, I mean, there's this game I like to play and it uses these funky rules and this is like an appendix to them.. No no, VIDEO game not Dungeons and Dragons.. I'm not that dorky.. Honest!! Where are you going?

PS- I treat this hobby like I treat all of my hobbies- I will gladly talk about it with anyone, but I don't wear a badge of honor proclaiming me a gamer.

I am definately out. It's no secret here at work that I'm a gamer.

Heck, I even runa game at my boss's house every couple weeks.

One of the players in my group actually tells folks he's playing cards on Wed PMs. When he speaks of it in public at all, it is referred to as "secret vice."

I don't make up stories but I do leave it vague. I am just far enough inside the dice closet that I make sure all my books and minis are put away when "real" people come over. Also, I breathe sigh of relief when I'm in my local gaming shop and I can use gaming terms in a normal tone of voice.

My wife is a totally different case. She -unlike myself and my friends- didn't play as a kid/adolescent, so she was never made to feel geeky about it. Since she started playing about 18 months ago, she will openly carry the PHB on the bus/subway and talk to her friends at work about our weekly gaming sessions ! The funny part about that is that one of our group works in MY office!

I would put myself int he inside out catagory. I don't mind telling anybody what I do on my every other Sunday. What is funny is we have a gamer in our group (who started playing with me back in the 70's), who is a die hard gamer. He tells his friends that he is playing cards. Our groups biggist geek lies to his friends about it.

yeah, one of those was supposed to be a "flaunt", but i seem to make an err every poll, did you see how badly i screwed up the "how old are you?" poll?
