This is a 2 part Question.

One of my group members has a nasty magic weapon I want gone. They are going to be fighting,
wraiths
shaow mastiffs
xorns
bodak
and a vampire

So how would you go about getting a weapon destroyed with these guys. It's not a massive encounter they are all seperate ecounters.

Plus I'm playing 3.0 so were are the rules for items destroyed (page number please) as I'm using a program and the first part is messed up.
Thanks in advance..............

Just have someone disarm the PC and have a xorn grab the weapon and burrow underground with it.

The info on sundering, which is probably what you are looking for, is on pg2. 135-136 of the 3.0 PHB.

Thanks.
The xorn are on a bridge over a tarpit so even if they knock it down it may go into the pit and be the end of that hammer.
does an additional 2d6 vs evil.
He does 1d8 + 2d6 + 5 and usually knocks down what he hits fast.

Holy weapon? If that kind of damage is considered alot then he's a little low to be getting +3 weapons.

Why get rid of the weapon? Why not just have more encounters with things not evil, reducing its effectiveness? Why not send the creatures with more HP after the wielder? I would think that getting rid of the weapon will only annoy the players since it was you that allowed them to have it in the first place.

If you are determined to get rid of the weapon, make the encounter such that whatever creatrues you have doing it make it a primary tactic, using it on everyone, so it does not appear that you are deliberately targeting that particular weapon, otherwise it is a really bad case of DM metagaming (I know a DM has to metagame some, but the opponents should not have knowledge that only the DM would).

How, pray tell, did he get the weapon in the first place?

A very good way to get a player to feel that you are unfair is to specifically target them without an in-game reason. Constructing elaborate in-game justifications for what are actually out-of-game or metagame reasons are also bad, from the player's point of view.

If at all possible, find another way to deal with it. Give the player an in-game reason to want to give it up, but make it a choice, rather than a railroad. Or reduce the number of critters who are Evil, or something.

Yeah, the first thing that comes to mind is to throw more constructs, animated objects, oozes, and the like at the party.

The character in question got it from a Necromancer module (raise the dead). The last 2 combat's he used his bastard sword as they were against a flesh golem and 2 shambling mounds.
The real fun part is that the raised player (not in the picture right now) is now growing slime inside himself and will burst out with evil goodness. I see the whole town getting turned to slime and it's all the parties fault :(

What level is the character? Perhaps you could just let him keep it until the weapon isn't quite so powerful relatively anymore?
