How to get rid of lots & lots of unneeded books?

Crothian, as he said, the library will not take them. The last thing most libraries want is a bunch of crap that nobody will ever use. Shelf space is expensive, libraries can't afford to waste it.

The best choices are:

1. Recycling center.

2. Landfill.

Yeah. I can hardly blame the libraries. There seems to be a concensus forming around option 1. Thanks for the help folks!

it suprises me a library won't take them. I guess the ones around here are different, I've never heard of them refusing books and there are more then a few that have more shelves then books.

I had to get rid of a bunch of old computer books. I sold the less ancient ones on eBay (getting at least some cash).

The rest I hauled to Half-Price books. Didn't get much at all, but I sure gained some space.

There aren't any used bookstores that will take them? You might be able to make a dollar! ;)

If you don't mind me asking, what books on SQL Server might you have? I've got a bit of old code here at work that I maintain that's hard to find references on.

Any books on perl? Python or other open-source technology? Those are more useful over the long time frame than other books are...

Add another voice to the chorus of 'recycle them!'
